I'm boring but I like fairly neutral carpet with just a few flecks of color. Then I like to add color to my walls. It's a lot easier and cheaper to "go crazy" with a wall color and keep carpet neutral. I don't mind painting every few years but I expect carpet to last 10+ years when I put it in.

Rug Cleaning Santa Monica:

I love berber carpet myself! Love that it wears well, does not show vacuum cleaner marks, pet foot prints, human foot prints, and has a more clean look and feel. It is not for those who want a soft, cushy, sink-your-toes-into carpet, however. Depending upon the warm or cool tone of the "deep red wall color" it would go with just about any carpet color. I would not try to match the wall color, I would try to find a carpet color that is neutral as you may tire of the red down the road and can repaint for a few hundred dollars, vs. replacing carpet for much more. Tan, warm taupe, latte, browns if the red is warm. Gray, cool taupe, sage greens, cool blues, would be your best bet if the red is cool, as far as I am concerned. Take carpet samples home and live with them for a few days in your home with your paint, lighting, wood tones, furnishings, etc. Hope that helps, I love red on the walls!

Kitchen Cabinets:

Steam cleaning on a regular basis should not fade the color from your carpet. However, sunlight, soil and dirt, and environmental factors all play a part in some degree of color change and fade in your carpets and rugs. Consult your carpet sales person for fiber and construction as some fibers hold color and dye better than others and will fade somewhat less. I would also consult your carpet cleaning professional for recommendations. Good news is you will have clean carpets and happy pets!

In my old house, we used to have berber in the bedrooms and wood throughout the rest of the home. Berber was good to disguise stains, but when I dropped something, I couldn't find it. We're thinking about adding carpets in our new home, for the bedrooms. What do you guys think would match deep red colored walls?

I would love to try some color in my carpets around the house but I have dogs and in addition to vacuuming my carpets I have my carpets steamed cleaned about once a month. Would the steam cleaning make the color fade in the carpet?

I would start with determining if the coral/pink carpet is a muted or toned down color or is it vibrant and bold? Is there good natural light from a window or windows? Is the room large and can it handle bold contract? Are the doors wood or dark tones? Are you trying to achieve a teen look or a more polished young adult look? I personally would lean toward the taupe/gray with a warm undertone. I love that combination! However, the possibilities are endless. If you want contract, go with a lively celedon green or an apple green with white trim or accent colors for a clean, crisp look. The only colors I would steer clear of would be jewel tones of purples and teals. They will make the room more juvenile as there will be too many strong colors competing with each other. The tone or value of the paint color is critical. What are the colors in the bedding, art, furniture and furnishings in the room? Try some warm chocolate browns, buckskin tan or slate grays. I would go to your paint store, get samples, take samples home and hang them in the room and live with them for a day or two. Once you decide on a color, buy a small can and paint a 2x2" area on the wall before you proceed. Let me know what you do, I would love to know how this turns out!

Beige goes along with just about any color that's why it would be a good choice for the color of carpets. It looks really professional so it is also ideal for office designs. I also see beige as a color that is simple, versatile and natural.

I think a safe way to go would be to start looking for a carpet with just flecks of color and see how that complements your furniture.
